Emmys Hype

When T told me she had tickets for us to go to the Emmys I was in disbelief. It seemed daunting, and I felt like it might be lost on me, but I am SO glad I had the opportunity.

It was the Creative Arts portion of the awards, seemingly swept by Anthony Bourdain's Parts Unknown (which warms my heart), Jesus Christ Superstar, and SNL. John Legend (who I sat directly behind for part of the show, what), Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice all reached EGOT status, so it seemed a pretty monumental occasion. Seeing Bill Nye irl was also pretty rad.

Irrefutable Proof

Probably I was most elated to be seated across the aisle from Jim Carrey, who I admire and respect so intensely, both for his immeasurable talent and his awakening/egoic detachment over the years. I find him truly inspiring, so this was a neat experience.

Literally me, what

After the show we got to walk the red carpet, and T&A snapped some photos (I managed to take just three for the whole afternoon). I am very grateful for this one in a lifetime chance... it is so enriching to take in events that are light years outside your comfort sphere.

For dinner we went to Little Sister, which was a delicious, exhausted blur.  What a flipping trip, and it's only day three.
